The White House announced on October 17, 2006 that the President signed into law the 2007 Defense Authorization bill, which included a one-year extension for the Save our Small & Seasonal Business Act of 2006. This Act has been the savior for H-2B employers as it excludes returning H-2B employees from being counted in the 66,000 worker cap.

Welcome to Copia International!

Copia International was founded on the principle that we live in a global market place.  “Copia” is the latin word for “abundance of people or things.”  At Copia International we belsieve that the world offers an abundance of workers; the United States offers an abundance of jobs; and the combination of these two things creates an abundance of opportunity.

It is Copia’s mission to connect honest, hard working employers with the reliable temporary staff that they need in order to grow, or in some cases sustain, their businesses.  It is not our mission to replace American workers!  Quite the contrary, it is our concern that small business owners do not have the US labor pool needed to concentrate on effective business strategy or successful customer service.   Without workers, these business owners, and the US workers they already employ, will be among the unemployed instead of supporting the growth of the US economy.  Too often, the founders of this organization watch as local business owners are forced to ask professional, educated individuals to perform tasks usually accomplished by relatively unskilled laborers.  As a result, managers become laborers.  This is the unfortunate reality of the prosperous economy with which we have been blessed.

The businesses that turn to Copia, in most cases, do so in desperation.  They are not desperate to find  “cheap labor” so that they can underprice their competition and dominate the market.  They are desperate to fulfill their service agreements to their clients when all recruitment efforts (at the Department of Labor’s certified prevailing wage) have failed to provide sufficient results.  It does not make sense to us at Copia to have unemployed or underemployed workers around the world, longing to support their families in their home country, while US employers struggle to spend time with their families because they can not find hourly workers to sustain their businesses.

We believe help is just a plane ride away.

We genuinely hope that your business hasn’t found itself in a crippling shortage of resources, but if it has...let Copia help you to connect with the abundance the world has to offer!
